MahaDevi Ayahuasca Retreat was founded in 2024 with a clear intention to raise the standard of ayahuasca retreat experiences through responsibility, structure, and care.

We offer premium ayahuasca retreats in Putumayo, Colombia for individuals who are serious about personal growth and committed to meaningful change in their lives.

Our retreats are not designed around chasing peak or purely mystical experiences. They are built to support insight, integration, and long-term transformation.

An Intentional Community

We intentionally work with action oriented people entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives, and individuals who want to apply what they learn in ceremony to their everyday lives.

Putumayo is one of the most historically significant yet under recognized regions of the Amazon. By bringing a high standard of care and organization to this land, we aim to honor its traditions while demonstrating what is possible when ancestral wisdom is supported by a modern and responsible retreat structure.

This work is held within a carefully designed container that includes in-depth preparation, medical screening, experienced facilitation, and structured integration support.

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the quality of ayahuasca retreat experiences for participants, for indigenous partners, and for the future of this work as a whole.

“I believe ayahuasca experiences should be useful experiences. Not only beautiful or profound, but meaningful in a way that leads to real, positive, and lasting change. That kind of transformation only happens when the right container is in place. One that supports preparation, safety, integration, and personal responsibility”

Yasha Shah, founder of Mahadevi Ayahuasca Retreat in Colombia

At MahaDevi, we invest deeply in creating that container. This includes:

• Comprehensive medical screening to ensure participant safety
• Intentional group composition for supportive dynamics
• Clear preparation guidelines that set realistic expectations
• Integration support that helps participants bring insights into daily life

One of our core intentions is to demonstrate that Putumayo, one of the Amazon’s most underrated regions, can host retreats that meet the highest standards of care, professionalism, and depth.

By doing so, we aim to contribute to a more responsible, mature, and sustainable future for plant medicine work worldwide.

The Team

At MahaDevi Ayahuasca Retreat, our work is guided by collaboration, clear roles, and shared responsibility.

Ceremonies are led by indigenous healers from established Amazonian lineages. Preparation, participant care, safety coordination, and integration support are held by experienced facilitators who work closely with the healers before, during, and after each retreat.

This structure allows ancestral traditions to be honored while ensuring participants are supported within a clear, grounded, and responsible retreat container.

Our Sanctuary

Putumayo is considered the medicine heartland of Colombia. While many ceremonies today are held in large cities, the roots of Colombian ayahuasca traditions come from this land.

Located in the northern Amazon, Putumayo offers landscapes not found elsewhere in South America. Waterfalls, cloud forests, and dramatic terrain create an environment of exceptional natural beauty. Our retreat center is located near Mocoa. This provides access to medical facilities while remaining secluded and immersed in nature.

The property features:

Participants wake each morning to the sound of flowing water, creating a calm and grounded setting for integration and personal reflection.
