Our Retreat Venue and Surroundings
MahaDevi is home to one of the most carefully built retreat environments in the Putumayo region, not a converted farmhouse or a rented facility, but a space designed from the ground up around one purpose: supporting the deepest possible healing work.
The property is located just outside Mocoa, at a higher elevation than much of the lowland Amazon. This matters. Cooler temperatures, lower humidity, and significantly fewer mosquitoes mean guests spend their energy on the retreat rather than on physical discomfort. Mosquito nets are generally not required.
The retreat is secluded enough to feel genuinely removed from ordinary life, and accessible enough that hospital care is 30 minutes away if needed. 24/7 on-site security supports privacy and peace of mind throughout your stay.
The Natural Setting
The retreat center sits at the edge of the northern Amazon rainforest, where highland jungle, river, and mountain landscapes converge. This is not the lowland Amazon, it is wilder and more temperate, with a quality of light and air that feels different from the moment you arrive.
The property runs alongside the Mocoa River. Guests wake each morning to the sound of water. A private waterfall is located directly on the land and is accessible throughout the retreat for swimming, grounding, or quiet reflection between activities.
Walking paths, shaded rest areas, and open green spaces make the property easy to move through and easy to disappear into, depending on what you need.
Accommodation Options
Three accommodation styles are available, from immersive jungle cabins to premium rooms with private jacuzzi. Every option includes the same essential comforts, hot shower, room service, hammock, sofa, and private terrace, so the choice is about the quality of immersion rather than a compromise in care.
Jungle Cabins
Set within the rainforest, our jungle cabins offer the most immersive accommodation on the property. Surrounded by trees, birdsong, and the rhythm of the jungle, these cabins invite a slower pace and a quieter mind. Each features a covered veranda with a hammock, a space to journal, listen to the river, or simply sit with what the ceremony brought up.
Available as private rooms or shared between two guests. Ideal for those who feel genuinely nourished by proximity to nature and who want their physical environment to match the spirit of the work.
Modern Rooms
Our modern rooms offer a calm, comfortable retreat space with easy access to the center's shared facilities. Located close to the cafeteria, swimming pool, and common areas, they combine convenience with genuine comfort, well-suited for guests who value simplicity and proximity to shared spaces without sacrificing the quality of their rest.

Modern Room, Premium
Our premium rooms are the most spacious accommodations on the property. They feature a larger layout, a king-size bed, and a private jacuzzi, offering an ideal space for rest, physical recovery, and post-ceremony integration between ceremony nights.
Located close to the pool and cafeteria. For guests who understand that the quality of their rest directly affects the quality of their work, and who want the best physical container available. Availability is limited.
Rooms for Couples
We accommodate couples who wish to share a private space during the retreat. Couple rooms offer the same level of comfort, privacy, and amenity access as private rooms, while allowing partners to experience the retreat together. Each person goes through individual screening and their own ceremony journey, the shared room simply means you rest together.
