In the context of Amazonian indigenous tradition it refers specifically to a sacred ceremonial snuff made from Nicotiana rustica tobacco and medicinal plant ash, used by tribes including the Yawanawá, Huni Kuin, and Katukina for spiritual grounding, mental clarity, and ceremonial healing. It is pronounced ha-pay.
